Abstract:
In light of the rapid global shifts toward globalization, the knowledge economy, and the digital revolution, reassessing administrative practices in higher education institutions has become essential to enhance their efficiency and ability to address challenges. In Jordan, despite governmental initiatives to promote a culture of institutional excellence, some universities - including Al-Hussein Bin Talal University- still face difficulties in implementing strategic management and institutionalizing quality. This highlights the need to study the reality of these practices and propose ways to improve them. Accordingly, this study aimed to diagnose the reality of administrative excellence practices at Al-Hussein Bin Talal University and propose ways to develop them in light of institutional excellence standards. The descriptive-analytical approach was employed, and a questionnaire was distributed to 42 academic leaders. The results showed that the level of practices was moderate, with a mean score of 3.38, while the proposed improvement methods received a high rating of 4.00. Based on these results, the study recommended strengthening internal monitoring and evaluation systems by establishing a clear mechanism for following up on the implementation of administrative plans within the university's various units, identifying measurable performance indicators, and linking them to periodic reports to ensure continuous improvement.
